4 Days Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater

Embark on an exciting 4-day safari that captures the essence of Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destinations. Your journey begins in Tarangire National Park, where vast elephant herds roam beneath towering baobabs, and countless bird species add color to the skies. Continue to the legendary Serengeti, home to endless plains teeming with lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and great herds of wildebeest and zebras. With luck, you may even witness a dramatic predator chase or seasonal migration scenes. The adventure concludes in the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” where fertile grasslands and wetlands sustain a dense concentration of wildlife, including the rare black rhino. Guided by experts and staying in comfortable lodges or camps, this short safari is designed for travelers who want to experience Tanzania’s diverse landscapes and wildlife highlights within just a few unforgettable days.

Day 1: Arusha/Airport to Tarangire National Park

We will depart from Arusha/airport (depending on your preference) in the morning and travel to the Tarangire National Park where you can marvel at the colossal termite mounds and the ancient baobab trees. The picturesque scenery and diverse bird-life assist in creating the tranquil ambiance of the Tarangire National Park. The great elephant population is an extremely remarkable sight. African elephants are the largest land mammal and adult males can weigh as much as seven tonnes. Tarangire’s varied wildlife includes lions, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetah, mongoose, buffaloes, and baboons. When your game drive comes to an end, we will take you to the Campsite.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

An appetising breakfast will be served at the camp followed by a drive to the Serengeti National Park. We will take the scenic route to the Serengeti which allows us to travel near the Ngorongoro Crater. There is a possibility of spotting game. The endless golden savannah with splotches of colour created by the vegetation and wildlife make it easy to understand why the Serengeti is one of the Seven Natural wonders of Africa. We will stop so that you can enjoy your picnic lunch on a kopje (a small hill in a generally flat area). We will proceed further into the Serengeti for a leisurely game drive. You will spend the night at the Serengeti Camp, comprehensive camping facilities are available.

Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

We will begin the day in the central Serengeti where we will have lunch and view game. The wildlife in the Serengeti is extremely diverse there are regular sightings of lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, elands, wild dogs, gazelles, crocodiles, giraffe, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos and antelopes. There are a few factors that will affect the game you spot such as the migration of the herds and the season. The various bird species consists of a few migrants from the Eurasia region. We will drive to the campsite which is located near the rim of the crater and a delectable dinner will be served. You will spend the night at the Simba Camp, comprehensive camping facilities are on offer.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

We will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater early in the morning as it is a wonderful time to spot game. We will go on a game drive with a picnic lunch inside the crater. Majority of the animals tend to reside within the crater due to its elevated structure. There is a high possibility of spotting every member of ‘The Big 5’. The group comprises some of the strongest animals in Africa – the ferocious lion, the giant elephant, the swift leopard, the tough rhino and the charging buffalo. The Crater was formed millions of years ago when a large volcano erupted. You can expect to encounter zebra, hippo, wildebeest and cackling hyenas. There are graceful flamingos along the Soda Lake and vultures are constantly circling the sky in search of discarded carcases. Storks and geese are popular water birds in the crater. Our game drive will conclude shortly after lunch. Our KE driver will transport you to Arusha but transportation to the airport can be arranged on request.
